FAQ
Do my captures leave my computer?
Screenshots, recordings, your library, and default OCR stay on your computer. If you choose remote OCR, Kiri shows the destination and image details and asks before sending each image.
Can I edit a screenshot later?
Yes. Open an image from the completion card or library. New captures preserve editable annotations. Older flattened marks cannot be restored as layers, but you can add new ones. Editable projects retain the unannotated source; export the image when sharing.
Should I choose a video or a GIF?
MP4 keeps the action and sound, with optional system audio, microphone, pointer, and click highlights. GIFs are silent and handy for short actions; you can also convert an existing recording. Microphone recording on Mac requires macOS 15 or later.
